An original Second World War British King\'s Badge (\"For Loyal Service\"), complete with its scarce original cardboard issue box from the Ministry of Pensions. The badge features the royal cypher of King George VI (GRI) surmounted by the Imperial Tudor Crown, surrounded by the \"For Loyal Service\" motto, and is fitted with the classic crescent-style civilian lapel/buttonhole mount.Instituted in late 1940, this badge was presented to members of the British and Commonwealth armed forces and Merchant Navy who were honourably discharged due to wounds, injuries, or illness contracted on active service, allowing them to demonstrate their veteran status in civilian attire.The badge itself is in very good original vintage condition with sharp relief, a clean finish, and a sturdy, undamaged rear crescent fitting.
