This impressive piece of Andean folk art stands 18.5 inches tall and beautifully showcases traditional regional craftsmanship.
Made from rich redware clay, the cathedral features intricately hand-painted cream and brown floral motifs, geometric decorative borders, and individual terracotta roof tiles. At the base, a charming procession of miniature clay figures gathers around a central religious figure outside the arched entryway.
These sculptures are traditionally used as protective roof ornaments or celebratory folk art in the Andes, making this a spectacular conversation piece for collectors of Latin American art, mid-century global decor, or religious artifacts.This could be a beautiful addition to your nativity scene.
