Description: Up for sale is a highly collectible antique straight razor from the historic American hardware distributor Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. This piece features the iconic and deeply sought-after "Buffalo Bill / Cowboy on Horseback" pressed figural celluloid scales. The handle boasts beautifully detailed, inked yellow-and-black Art Deco relief patterns. The pins are original and tight, and the handle scales show no signs of warping or "celluloid rot." The blade tang is explicitly stamped "Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. Made in Germany" on one side, and the model number "1905" on the reverse. Fine grip jimps run along both the top and bottom of the tang.
Condition Report:
Handle (Scales): Very Good antique condition. Crisp details, rich coloring, and completely straight alignment. No chips or cracks observed.
Blade Steel: Fair to Good unrestored condition. The profile is straight with minimal hone wear. The face of the blade shows significant dark age patina, staining, and areas of localized pitting (notably near the toe and spine). The edge will need a proper honing/restoration if intended for practical use.
