Rare and Magnificent BP Jum Rusticated Straight Bullmoose Rhodesian Tobacco Pipe 1940s-50s
Rumored to be associated with Custom-Bilt, or at least the Makers of Custom-Bilt working for Biltmore pipes, as part of their Jumbo line, thus the abbreviated naming Biltmore Pipes Jumbo was rendered BP JUM., whatever the case maybe, it's easy to see why they are often considered To be Custom-Bilt made,
the Rustication, Shaping and finish are a dead ringer for Tracy Mincer era Custom-Bilt's.
The bottom front of the Bowl has a slight "Chin" protrusion. Which is what I always considered to be a feature of a "Bullmoose" vs a Bullcap, but apparently, the shanks shape, also plays a part in the distinction. the Bullcap is apparently said to feature a diamond shank... so much contradicting information available... Anyway..
The Chamber is in Outstanding Smoked Condition and is perfectly uniform.
The Vulcanite Stem is Jet black and Chatter Free.
Excellent Rusticated texture and Finished in a beautiful contrasting Walnut Stain.
