Genuine piece of combat history. This is an original combat-issue M-1938 heavy-duty wire cutter, manufactured by a prominent wartime contractor right at the outbreak of American involvement in World War II.

• Design: Classic dual-action compound leverage "parrot beak" cutter used widely by Army Infantry and Marine Corps engineers to clear battlefield obstacles.

• Handles: Features the original black vulcanized insulation grips.

Condition Notes

• Mechanical: Fully functional compound jaw mechanism with a smooth, heavy action.

• Blades: The cutting jaws retain excellent alignment. There is an authentic, minor chip on the lower cutting edge from historical field use (see close-up photo).

• Grips: Shows honest battlefield wear. There is a prominent chip/fracture in the hard rubber insulation on one handle, exposing a small section of the metal tang beneath (visible in photos).
