Lot of two original 1886 bank checks issued by the famous The Bullion and Exchange Bank of Carson City, Nevada. Both checks feature the rare and highly desirable signature of Theodore R. Hofer (T.R. Hofer), who served as Cashier of the bank and later became the 7th Superintendent of the United States Carson City Mint.During this era, the Bullion and Exchange Bank operated in close proximity to and eventually inside, the Carson City Mint.
