GORGEOUS Vintage 1880's Antique Sampler Quilt ~Extraordinary Piecework:

This WONDERFUL cotton sampler quilt is all hand pieced and hand quilted, with a variety of early fabrics, including nice browns, blues, and copper madder prints.It measures 78" X 92" and is in fair condition, with significant fabric deterioration and fabric loss (some with batting showing through) in approximately 20% of the quilt. The back has age/water stains visible.
There is hand quilting around the piecework and in straight line designs in the background, all at 7 stitches to the inch.
The back is aged early white, the hand stitched binding is the same solid early chocolate brown used in the interior, and the batting is thin.
The WONDERFUL VARIETY of DYNAMIC PATTERNS and GREAT COLORS make this vintage southern COLLECTOR'S QUILT stand out -- a good candidate for restoration!
