Up for sale is a single Antique 1920s Art Deco Pirate Bookend designed by sculptor Paul Herzel and manufactured by the Pompeian Bronze Company in New York.
This historic, heavy figural piece depicts a classic swashbuckling pirate standing guard with a sword over a treasure chest, with a second pirate figure visible in the background. It features the company\'s signature bronze-clad structure adorned with an original multi-colored polychrome paint finish.

## ⚠️ Condition Report (Read Before /Buying):
* Front View: The front display side is in excellent antique condition. The original hand-painted polychrome finish remains incredibly bright and vibrant compared to most surviving examples. The blue trousers and red cape pop beautifully. There is minor, normal edge wear to the gold finish along the bottom corner ridges.
* Back View (Damage Present): There is a prominent split/crack and indentation in the thin outer bronze metal cladding along the top back edge (as shown in the close-up photo). The internal composite core is slightly visible through this hairline separation.
